The Analogue Process

Each guest is invited to sit with me at the portrait station for a few quiet minutes. In a relaxed setting, my gaze stays on my subject. Each portrait is created in a single, continuous line, without lifting my pen or looking at the paper.

As I trace the contours of a face, the curve of a smile, the tilt of a head, the drawing unfolds intuitively. It is a practice in presence. The singular line ends with the name of the guest or a word they wish to embody, making the art even more meaningful.

These are not quick sketches or caricatures created simply to entertain. They are conscious acts of observation, capturing the essence of the person. This is an opportunity for the guests to be genuinely seen and celebrated exactly as they are.

I then add splashes of color inspired by the guest’s outfit or mood, infusing each portrait with its own unique personality and texture.
